Shirley was born in China and moved to Australia as a teenager; she’s fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, and she earned a bachelor’s degree in Sydney before starting a family there. After living in Singapore for almost two years, she moved to Texas in 2016.
As it does for most new Dallasites, Tex-Mex quickly changed her life: “Before coming here, I had no idea what queso was.”
Shirley brings a wealth of knowledge and a breadth of experience to her role at CD Wealth Management. She began her career in Australia with client service roles at HSBC Bank, Etrade Australia/HSBC Stock Broking and CommSec Adviser Services. She also has worked locally as a client associate at Tolleson Wealth Management and RBC Wealth Management in Dallas.
When the opportunity arose to join the team at CD Wealth Management, she knew immediately it would be a perfect fit.
“I was doing research and I could find the fees online. The company is very transparent and very detailed, and you would never find that online anywhere else. I had already fallen in love with the company.”
In her role as a Senior Registered Client Service Specialist, Shirley helps clients with onboarding, questions about accounts and money movements. She is committed to delivering the high caliber of customer service that has been a trademark of CD Wealth Management since it began in 2014.
“For me, it’s the intimate work environment with the three advisors and the rest of us,” she said. “The clients are all three advisors’ clients, and we all work very closely to serve them. They know us very well, and we know them. I like that close connection.”
When she’s not working, Shirley enjoys spending time with her family, watching her son play basketball and volunteering at church or her son’s school.
