Crystal Wasta

Director of Investment Operations

With a background in both annuities and wealth management — and a variety of interests outside of finance — Crystal brings valuable experience to the CD Wealth Management team.

She started her career as a Customer Service Representative and quickly became an Operations Specialist with ING in Des Moines, Iowa. Specializing in broker-dealer operations, Crystal was a nationwide customer service award winner and was recognized for her outstanding work on training modules and manuals.

After she moved to Texas, Crystal worked as Operations Coordinator at Lincoln Financial Advisors in Dallas for three years. Then in the summer of 2017, an opportunity arose to join the team at CD Wealth Management.

“I always said that if I ever go to the advisor side, it has to be the right office,” she said. “It has to be people who put the client first, who care more about the client than they do about making money off the client. And that’s exactly what I found here.

“At the end of the day, the reputation is important. The client experience is important. Doing the right thing is important.”

In her role as Director of Investment Operations, Crystal serves as an excellent resource to the team on industry updates and their impact on clients, and she holds a seat on Kestra Financial’s Staff Council.

Crystal also is a certified trauma specialist, having worked as a volunteer to assist victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Her training and her empathy are assets to colleagues and clients alike.

“Your money is tied to everything you do, every decision you make,” she said. “Helping people through divorce or through someone passing, it all comes down to keeping an even emotional level with money when you don’t feel emotionally level. It’s a difficult challenge.”
