A magna cum laude graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, Ryland joined CD Wealth Management as a Client Service Associate after completing two internships with the firm while she was in college. Those experiences confirmed what she had been looking for: a career where thoughtful problem-solving and meaningful relationships go hand in hand.
“I love the depth of what we do, how nuanced it is and how we care for clients from beginning to end,” she says. “Everyone’s really here just to be helpful and to walk clients through some huge decisions.”
With a bachelor’s degree in Human Dimensions of Organizations, a business minor, and certification in conflict mediation, her background gives her a unique perspective — emphasizing communication, collaboration, and understanding the people behind every financial decision.
“My major works a lot with people as the focus of organizations, and I feel like that’s perfect for wealth management,” she says.
She is studying for her securities certifications.
In high school, Ryland led a team of engineers at Parish Episcopal School to two World Championships in the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. The annual contest is a nine-month competition in which students design, build, and test a lunar rover and are evaluated by NASA engineers and professional staff.
Through that experience, Ryland learned how to MIG weld and TIG weld, how to lead a group of people to a common goal, and how to solve problems on a tight timeline: “I was a translator a lot of the time, and I loved it,” she says.
“Nothing is impossible to fix. Anything is doable. You just have to put your head down and work.”
In college, Ryland served for two years as Vice President of Operations for her sorority, Tri Delta. Through her work in that position, she advocated for other members who needed assistance to be able to participate, and she also worked with the sorority to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Ryland enjoys running, reading and following college football — specifically her Longhorns. She is also a lifelong soccer player and enjoys tackling projects that combine creativity, organization and problem-solving.
